UPCOMING TRAIL WORKDAYS
Once again, the Back Country Horsemen of North Georgia (BCHNG)
will host a workday at the USFS Jacks River Fields campground and horse camp
in the Cohuttas to celebrate National Trails Day®. Volunteers and their
families are invited to help spruce up the campground and maintain the nearby
trails. Sign-up begins at 9:00 a.m. and tasks include mowing, weed eating,
cleaning campsites and fire rings, trimming and clipping, etc. No experience
needed, but please bring work gloves, drinking water, lunch/snacks, a daypack
and camp chair. BCHNG will provide a “thank you” cookout at 4:00 p.m. for
workday volunteers. Call 706-374-7075 for more info.
2011 - Equestrian Trail Workdays
There are ongoing monthly workdays all across North Georgia. Please contact one of the persons below to volunteer and help maintain our trails! As for all workdays, wear sturdy shoes or boots; bring work gloves, bug spray, lunch or energy snacks, and plenty of drinking water. (Lunch not needed for Kennesaw standard monthly events as they finish around 1:00 p.m. Usually CTHA provides lunch.) Please remember SAFETY as you work on any of the trails. Directions to the work meeting location are available from the listed contact person. The USFS-Conasauga Ranger District, NPS, and CTHA provide work tools for their events. CCSC provides trail tools except loppers. Please register with the contact person prior to the event.
